Justin Southey's practice explores notions of landscapes and fantastical worlds that serve as metaphors for more unquantifiable emotional and spiritual spaces. Acting like ephermal mirages, the artist's ambition is to explore and capture the intertwining and transcendent quality of the unseen. 

The name of the painting "dévoiler"means to unveil. Unveiling has a special significance in the context of the Biblical story, where thousands of years of intermediaries, ceremony and ritual cleansing was ultimately sidestepped by God the Father in Jesus Christ. Through his Son, he redefined his original intent for us, and physically and metaphorically tore the curtain of separation in the Temple, allowing us to know Him, to experience His glory and ultimately be transformed into His image.
